Let’s start the day off by coming together to set the tone for today. We will be spending time centering our hearts and minds to be open and ready to receive all the wonderful information throughout the day. We will be discussing and reflecting as individuals and groups on what it looks like to be present, the importance of being your authentic self, and how to cultivate a culture where we all belong.
Need to top off your coffee, refill your water, or grab a snack? Now’s the time!

The sense of belonging we intentionally foster with each other is the basis for the culture we help cultivate for young children and their families. This session will explore the necessary components for creating a culture of belonging within our respective working environments. Learning will include understanding the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion within a culture of belonging, recognizing the impact of biases and microaggressions on this culture, and identifying individual roles and responsibilities to create an environment where individuals don’t simply fit in, but belong.
If you are interested in getting involved with New Horizon Academy & Kinderberry Hill diversity, equity, inclusion, & belonging (DEIB) efforts, fill out this brief interest survey to stay engaged, share ideas, and offer feedback. You’ll hear from the DEIB Strategy Team soon!
